Thank you for this link. Meg Rosoff’s comments seem particularly true given that yesterday my 75 year old mum - not much of a reader but someone who knows the terrain of Irish Catholic families rather well - rung to say that she’d stayed up most of the night reading the copy of ‘A Swift Pure Cry’ that I had lent her. She just loved it.

I felt the profile in the Independent was particularly well done. So often writers get enough things slightly wrong, that you feel a bit cheated and annoyed.
